TRINITY CATHEDRAL (EPISCOPAL)
TRENTON, NEW JERSEY
Robert Burns in To a Mouse eloquently writes
of adversity:
The best laid schemes omice anmen
Gang aft a-gley,
An leae us nought but grief an
pain
For promised joy.
Thus it is that occasionally we are required to do that which we know
not to be in the clients best interest, yet are compelled to exel
in the face of great obstacles.
Trinity Cathedral is a marvelous acoustical and visual space; and although
no rear gallery exists, placing the organ and choir in this location would
be ideal, indeed. Instead, Petty-Madden was given the charge of building
an organ within an existing chancel chamber. Great care in designing pipe
scales, voicing and departmental layout within the chamber has produced
an organ of spectacular results.
